Sim found inside an iPhone 12

I'm from the Philippines and I bought an iPhone from a retail store. Did my homework, checked serial number (it has never been activated) and model number starts with M (it's not refurbished). However, I was surprised to see there was a verizon 5g SIM card inside when I opened the tray. Should I be concerned?

You. bought a gray market phone from an unauthorized retailer.

Of course you should be concerned...

Return it and get your money back and go buy a phone from an authorized retailer instead.

Even if that one is unlocked and works with your carrier, The warranty clock started ticking when it was originally sold in the US and if it needs service, you will have to physically take the phone to the US for repair or replacement.
