'Unable to activate Face ID on this iPhone' after 14.7 upgrade on iPhone X

Once my iPhone X restarted after the iOS 14.7 update, I was prompted with the message 'Unable to activate Face ID on this iPhone'.

Following https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208114, I've restarted, hard-restarted, reset Face ID. When trying to 'Set Up Face ID' in settings on the iPhone, it says 'Face ID Is Not Available - Try setting up Face ID later'


Before the 14.7 update Face ID was working perfectly.

If you still need help, reset Face ID, then set it up again. Go to Settings > Face ID& Passcode and tap Reset Face ID. Then tap Set up Face ID to set it up again. If you can't enroll your face, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider or contact Apple Support.
