in my send and receive box i can't tap anything

Ok so i'm trying to sycn my ipad and iphone together but it won't let me add my phone number to the ipad. It won't even let me uncheck my gmail on there either.

Unable to send iMessages to myself on my iPhone X When sending a "text" message to myself using my iPhone X, it only sends SMS messages (green bubble). I cannot send iMessage (blue bubble) to myself using my iPhone. Is that gmail address the same as the Apple ID that is logged into iMessage on your iPhone? Your iPhone's phone number should auto-populate on the iPad.

You will also want to enable Text Message Forwarding on your iPhone.
