Yes new top quality batteries have been inserted to both keyboard and mouse.

Get your hands on an inexpensive (or borrowed, even from a pc friend) USB keyboard and mouse. They're always great to have on hand for troubleshooting in time like this.
A plug-in USB keyboard and mouse should work if bluetooth wireless won't.
