My iPhone 12 isn’t charging

Just got my iPhone 12 max pro today but I can’t get it to charge. It’s at 65% and holding I hope. I’ve been reading that the battery will charge to 80% and then hold for battery optimization. I don’t get it but it’s okay. I just need to know if 65% is sufficient and is it designed at that percentage for battery optimization?
