in the last year something has changed.
i cant see anymore my location in google maps while flying with airplane mode ON.
in the past it worked perfect.
what has been changed?

GPS might still be working but unless the airline allows you to use WiFi and you have turned that back on, Google Maps (nor any mapping utility that needs constant map updating) won't work.

Reading online it seems that GPS in phones is complex and may involve features such as cell tower support which won't be available in the air; GPS may be disabled on some model phones because even though it doesn't transmit, it may still use components which may interfere with radio signals the aircraft is relying upon; etc.

Is GPS working while Airplane mode? Because for the last year i cant see my position while flying i am flying
