USB C charger

Just got a new iPad. Disappointed that the port/charging cord has changed from a lightning connector to a USB C. So now all of my other cords are useless. How am I supposed to sync my iPad with my Mac without a USB connection?

There are USB-A to USB-C cables available for purchase if your Mac does not have a USB-C connector.

Whilst your older model Mac may not have a USB-C port, it will doubtless have multiple USB Type-A ports to which you can connect USB devices.


To connect your 2021 iPad Pro to a computer that has USB Type-A ports, you simply need a USB3 Type-A to USB-C cable. Here is an example marketed by Apple:
