My husband’s phone is not receiving messages…but when he sends me txt msg, it comes up on my phone as his email address instead of his name….please advise

Sounds like his phone number isn't activated with iMessage.

Have him check Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Is his phone number listed? If it's not, is there an error under Settings > messages like "Waiting for Activation"?

Try using https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201422 to start.
