FaceBook sound emoji not working on iOS

I have the same issue, no sound emojis or loudspeaker icon appearing in messenger. I too have followed all recommended steps and still no resolution. Is it an iPhone problem or Facebook or both. Not rocket science, all I require is a simple answer to a simple question.

We'd like to help however we can, but we're unsure of whether this is an issue specific to Facebook Messenger. Let's confirm the following to better understand what's happening, along with ruling out some basics:

1. As there's not a 'sound emoji' option within the built-in Messages app on any iPhone, is this a feature within Facebook Messenger to which you're referring?
2. You mentioned deleting/downloading Facebook Messenger, which means you have the latest version of it. You also mentioned having the latest iOS, but from your post, we see iOS 14 is installed. The latest version would be iOS 14.7. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Just in case, here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
3. Are other sounds working in other apps from your iPhone?
4. Has a restart been tried? If not, this link shows how to Restart your iPhone.

Still not working. I updated to iOS 14.7.1 and updated Messenger to the latest, still no loudspeaker icon after clicking the smiley face. I have probably updated Messenger 4 times since they released soundmojis. I also removed some emoji apps in case they where interfering but no help. I have reported this several times to the FB Messenger team and no response at all. I am also unable to receive soundmojis that my husband sends to me, he has an old iPhone 6 and an iPad Air 2, soundmojis are working fine for him on both.

I have exactly the same problem. iPhone 12 Pro Max. I have restarted it, updated to iOS 14.7, and deleted/reinstalled the Facebook Messenger app. I have closed all background apps and restarted the phone again. In Facebook Messenger when I click the smiley face in a chat text box I do not have the soundmoji icon. My husband has soundmojis working on his iPhone and iPad, if he sends one to me in Messenger it does not display or play in my Messenger.

Same for me. I have an iPhone 11, no sound icon after updating to the newest version of messenger.

Glad I'm not the only one who can't get soundmojis to work. I have an iPhone and a Pixel phone and I can't get them on either device so I'm guessing it's an issue at FB's end.

I have an Iphone 12 Pro and I also don’t have the sound emojis and can’t play/hear it also when somebody sends me such sound emojis 😭😭😭

Same here! I have iPhone 12, latest version of iOS and I’ve just updated FB and Messenger apps. But after clicking on smiley face I can choose from stickers and GIFs, no speaker icon is showing.

iPhone 12 Pro Max and same problem of no Soundemoji👎🏻

Looks like it’s a Facebook problem. I’ve tried many different devices including android …. Same thing, no emoji speaker icon to be found. I’ve hassled Facebook support but no reply
