Sign in to your Apple ID account page.     

In the Security section, Click Edit.

Click Turn Off two-step verification.

Create new security questions and verify your date of birth.

You'll get an email confirming that two-step verification for your Apple ID is off.

If you already use two-factor authentication, you can no longer turn it off. Apple ID -Two-factor authentication.       

Tried going into security does not work to remove number & 2 step authentication. Won’t allow me. It was done today, and I can remove it, please help. I don’t want this on my iPad that never leaves my house. I wish I never tried to apply for their credit card, required me to do it.

if I can’t do anything is there a way to roll back updates on iPad or restore to original factory setting and have to redo everything.

Totally stinks that it can’t be edited. Really making rethink about buying an iPhone because of this. Very frustrating. Sorry

it started me off on that two step and it wont come off i just opened my accout with apple

All new Apple IDs have 2 Factor Authentication on by default and you can't turn it off.
