Cannot change/spoof MAC address, I get different address in terminal and different in Network preferences

Hello,

I tried the usual terminal commands to change my MAC address but without being pretty successful

I tried different ways:

sudo ifconfig en0 ether <MAC address>

I also tried:

sudo --login

and then after disconnecting from current Network:

ifconfig en0 ether <MAC address>

After typing ifconfig or ifconfig en0 or ifconfig en0 |grep ether I then get the new MAC Address, but if I check at Network preferences or clicking Wifi icon after pressing Option key, the old MAC Address is still there, so I get a different MAC Address in terminal than the one showing in GUI(network pref)
