I was at the beach with some of my mates and i forgot i had my phone in pocket and i took it to sea. I came back out and realised my phone was in my pocket and dried it. It still works but i know how corrosive salt water is and i need to know how to fix it before anything gets broken. Please help me.

Okay thank you Lyssa. I backed everything up to the icloud. Apple support asked me to check water indicator and the indicator hasn't turned red and there hasn't been any malfunctions so I might of gotten lucky. I'm not looking forward for that bill. £500 for water damage repair!

Water damage is progressive. Your phone may be fine for now, but it is likely water got inside and will cause damage over time.
Start backing it up now. Continue to use it if you wish, but be prepared to replace it.

You will be replacing the phone. All water damage is progressive and eventually the phone will stop working. There is no fixing it.
Start backing it up now if you haven't been doing so already.

I contacted apple support and they said it should be fine. I'm sure no water got inside the phone.
I checked the sim card tray and there's no evidence of water inside so i doubt any got inside the phone.
My phone was submerged in salty sea water
