Green dot (camera on) while texting iMessage

Hello,

on many occasions and specifically while texting a certain person, the green dot (camera on indicator) appears. Only while texting with this person, and the camera wasn’t activated. Only the green dot was. I didn’t click mistakenly on the camera icon either.

when I leave the iMessage conversation or go out of the app the green dot turns off. It’s always been a green dot not the orange one.

im afraid my conversation is being hacked or spied on.

How can I know for sure?! How to verify and resolve this issue!? it makes me nervous!

From your post we see you have some concerns about what app is using your camera as you don't expect it to be on. We want to help! We can say with certainty that the device does not have a hacker accessing the camera, most likely it is just an app accessing it at an unexpected time. Try using the steps in this article to disallow some apps from accessing the camera and seeing if the green dot continues to appear: Control access to hardware features on iPhone. That can help narrow down where the issue is coming from.
