LaCie 5BIG on M1 Mac Mini RAID-5

July 25 - 2021. I have restored the speed on my 20TB 5BIG by converting the whole box to OWC SoftRaid PRO. After LaCie fixed the driver and allowed the drive to mount, I was getting speeds in the order of 49 MB/sec write and 225 MB/sec read ..... after converting to SoftRaid, with a the RAID loaded to about 75% of its capacity I am getting speeds in the 300 / 500 range.

According to a Softraid forum admin, the new Mac Pro pci-e is capped at 7000mb/s(I assume just for nvme drives?). Is this the case? But when using the ATTO Disk Benchmark I get the more expected results of about 9000-10000mb/s R/W. From what I understand all three are well respected tests but what can I make of the speed discrepancy between ATTO and the others? Which do I believe? ATTO gives me what I expected while the others do not.

LaCie 6big RAID macOS 13.2 mount issue Hello. My LaCie 6big RAID5 does not mount on my M1 Max Macbook Pro after macOS 13.2 update was installed. It does not mount via Thunderbolt nor it does via USB-C. The 6big RAID is seen by LRM via Thunderbolt only. I connect it directly with provided cable. I did uninstall - reboot - install - reboot cycle of LRM and installed the latest LRM update 2.9.4.437. All the permissions are granted. See attached screenshots. Also sent to LaCie support.

Lacie 6big 24TB lacking disk speeds at new M1 iMac Hello, yesterday I set up my new Lacie 6big 24TB hdd with my new M1 iMac 24”. Lacie 6big came with Raid 5 and I tested the disk speed and result was 50mb/s write and 600mb/s read. I was shocked. I tried what Lacie suggeste on their website and nothing changed. Every single step was correct. Then I decided to go with Raid 0 I had no other chance. It gave me 600mb/s write and over 1000mb/s read speeds. Not bad for my job but still should be around 1400mb/s write speeds. I use only thunderbolt 3 only with suggested cables. btw I’m a DP (director of photography) and edit on huge files. So need high speed levels on RAW footage. I searched on the web and figures out Apple has to do some software updates on firmware also. My other drives also works slower on thunderbolt 3… what do you suggest on that issue? Please help.
