Link Bootcamp after clean install

Hi

Im sure the answer is here somewhere but I can't find it.

For various reasons I would like to do a clean install of Big Sur. My problem is I have an active Boot Camp partition that works just fine.

Is there anyway I can do a fresh install of the Mac OS and relink to the existing Boot camp partition or can someone advise me of best practise to go forward, maybe clone the windows installation and reinstall?

My thanks in anticipation

Stephen

You need not enable Automatic Updates, if you can check manually. There may be a situation that you do not want latest updates which can cause issues. I will usually check for Security Updates, and leave OS updates.

A Fusion drive will make the Windows boot slower, but the macOS side should boot quickly. Are there specific applications that are slow. From macOS Terminal, can you post the output of

diskutil apfs list

and we can check if there are any issues. Another tool is https://etrecheck.com.

Thank you for taking the time to help.

The windows 10 boot camp partition works brilliantly. all I use it for is some specialised Audio Editing software not available on apple platforms but it wont run under a virtual machine.

My mac has got unbelievably slow. What is the best way to start over so to speak? i wondered about deleting me as a user and creating a new one. Might that help?

Thank you
