Mail Account in Mojave

So I deleted that SBC email account and decided to re-add it in mail. I am unable to do so, and have attached a screenshot of the error message. I get a redirect screen, then the following -

You likely need an App password before your Yahoo eMail password is going to work.

Yahoo App password…

Generate and manage third-party app passwords

Some older, third-party email apps (that do not use our Yahoo branded sign in page) require you to enter a single password for login credentials. To access your Yahoo Mail account on these apps, you'll need to generate and use an app password. An app password is a long, randomly generated code that gives a non-Yahoo app permission to access your Yahoo account. You’ll only need to provide this code once to sign in to your third-party email app.

I did that with the SBC Yahoo account, yes. It was a real pain just getting Yahoo/ATT to accept the new pword. Now I cannot get Mail to accept it. It seems to go to Yahoo to have me sign in, that's when I get that error. Makes no sense to me. Does this mean I just use that newly generated password for Gmail access to the SBC account, or do I use that new password across the board whenever accessing the SBC/Yahoo/ATT email account?

That's not terribly clear from what I have read.

Are they one and the same or separate? That's where I get confused. Adding the SBC account to Mail is the issue. The newly generated password works for Yahoo in my browser. Trying to add the SBC account to Mail asks for me to sign in. I enter the account name #######@sbcglobal.net. It then asks for the password. I enter the newly generated password and get the error message on the screenshot. This dropdown message seems to be redirecting me to Yahoo/SBC, but the new password fails. Entering the password previously used in Mail also fails.
