How to un-exclude photos from iCloud Photo Sync on Windows

All of my HEIC photos and a good amount of my JPEG photos won't sync to iCloud Photos on Windows. Here is a picture of what my sync directory looks like in File Explorer, I've been able to find no documentation on this and the settings panel is no help.

Hi there notreallytristan!

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are having trouble syncing photos from your PC onto iCloud Photos. We'll be glad to help you find a solution for this issue.

To start, do you have a large photo library? If so, we'd like to check to see how much storage space you have available on iCloud and if it can manage the additional photos. To check, use the steps here: Manage your iCloud storage

Keep in mind, If you exceed your iCloud storage limit, photos and videos won't upload to iCloud and your library won’t stay up to date across your devices.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!

I have a 2 TB iCloud plan and I’ve been trying to sync about 300GB of photos for literally months now. The Mac photos client outright crashes when trying to sync that many photos, and now the Windows client has this issue.

I don’t know why there isn’t just some simple way to upload a folder with a large amount of photos well like every other cloud provider has. If I can’t get this resolved within the week I’m gonna cancel my subscription because this is ridiculous.
