App Store says “Open” instead of “Install”

I deleted an app from my Home Screen a few months ago and want to reinstall it. However, when I go to the app on the App Store, it just says “open” instead of “install.” When I click open, the app does indeed open. But I can’t get push notifications on it and there is no icon on my Home Screen. I also attempted to search for the app on my phone’s search bar and nothing came up.

I have tried:

• closing and re-opening the App Store app
• signing out and back into my account
• restarting my phone
• soft resetting my phone

None of these have worked. Help?

Of course as soon as I post it I figure it out. 🙃

For anyone else having this issue, the problem is that the app is in your App Library instead of your Home Screen. Scroll past all of your Home Screens until you get to the App Library. Search for the app that you want. Then click and hold and it should let you put in on your Home Screen.
