Location not showing on backed up photos on icloud

If I log into my icloud on my desktop to look at photos which were automatically uploaded to the icloud from my iphone, I expected to see the same location descriptors as appears at the top of photos on my iphone, on the photos on my icloud. I want to delete the photos on my iphone as I really need the space.

But I can only delete the photos on my iphone if I know they are stored properly on the icloud which I can access from my desktop, - and that means have the location header.

How can I get the location headers back on all my photos sitting in my icloud?

Hi Zebedee79,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand you are attempting to archive your photos using iCloud, allowing you to remove them from your iPhone.

If you delete photos from your iPhone, they will also be deleted from iCloud. Instead, you would need to archive your photos and videos following the steps linked below.

Archive or make copies of the information you store in iCloud

You can learn more about how iCloud Photos manages your data here:

Set up and use iCloud Photos

Cheers!
