Ejecting a partitioned external hard drive

I have an external hdd which is partitioned for MAC and Windows.

I have many clients that are Windows users, and need to give them large amounts of photos.


When ejecting the hdd, the windows side ejects, and the mac side i receive notification that an app is using the hdd.

no apps are using this.

yes, log off, etc, but i don't want to have to do this every time i use the hdd.

I even bought a new hdd to see if it was the hdd... but nope, it is having the same issue.

Hold the Option key when you go to eject from the Finder sidebar.


If you can't eject a disk from Mac - Apple Support
