How can I have 2 separate IDs without me losing everything?

My dad and I share an Apple ID. This same Apple ID is on my iPhone and my dads iPhone. Over the years, all my personal contacts, pictures/videos, apps, etc. have been under this ID, but so have my dads. I want my dad and I to have our own separate IDs, but that means I would have to create a new one while my dad keeps the current one. I still want to keep all my information and everything that’s been on this phone though instead of restarting with a blank Apple ID. How can we have 2 separate IDs without me losing everything?

When you sign into a new ID on the phone and there are services which iCloud uses you will likely be asked if you want to delete old data or merge with the new ID. Select to keep. You'll have to hand sort and delete your father's stuff.
