Revert iCloud Photos sync?

Hi,

Recently I re-enabled iCloud Photos sync (or whatever it's called) on my MacBook after a long while and my iPhone's camera roll has repopulated itself with images I deleted AGES ago.

This has been a huge pain after spending hours cleaning it up, but I realized that the changes had not synced up to my iPad yet and I was able to throw it in Airplane Mode before it could. Is there any way I could get it to sync to the rest of my devices instead of manually deleting thousands of images and videos again?

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you have a question about iCloud Photos. We're happy to help.

With iCloud Photos enabled content will sync across all devices you are signed into the same Apple ID with. We recommend ensuring the photos you do not wish to sync are fully removed from your MacBook before re-enabling iCloud Photos.

Once enabled you'll find "The photos and videos that you delete on one device are deleted everywhere that you use iCloud Photos. Photos and videos stay in the Recently Deleted folder for 30 days before they're deleted permanently."
