Tiktok and Safari

Something weird has been happening with my phone. First of all, I do NOT have tiktok. It has happened in the past where my friends have sent me tiktok videos and I’ve pressed the link and it takes me to safari to watch them. Okay, so I’ve noticed recently that there have been tabs open on safari I have not opened before and these are Tiktok videos. So I deleted them all. Today, another tiktok video tab opened I never pressed on Safari, while I wasn’t even on my phone. What is going on? How can I stop this?

Hello ivon97,

From what you've described, it seems that the TikTok videos are going to separate tabs on Safari and even opening without pressing on the video.

We'd suggest looking over your Safari settings and consider enabling Private mode: Browse privately in Safari on iPhone  Look this over and focus on the section "Control privacy and security settings for Safari" as you might've enabled a cookie from the website. Erase your browsing history, and try a few of these suggestions to see if it helps.

Take care.
