I am having MacBook Pro m1. while working in iMovie, it shuts down iMovie when I take the cursor to end of timeline. need help.

It could be a glitch confined to this one project. Try doing an Edit/Select All, Edit/Copy, of all the media in your project and then Edit/Paste the media into a newly created project. Now see if the issue is cured.

No it did not work. Still the same thing happens. At the end of my footage in the timeline I made 'titles' and then after that there are two backgrounds, which I wanted to delete before exporting. I am able to go upto titles, but beyond that I am not able to take my cursor. Has it got something to do with titles?

It could be something as simple as a corrupt preference. Try deleting preferences and see if that cures the problem. To delete preferences open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Deleting preferences is a safe
procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.
