High Sierra and AirPods Pro compatability

I've found a few comments/questions in this forum that say AirPods Pro are not compatible with Mac OS High Sierra. Initially, I was blown away to learn this after purchasing my AirPods Pro. However, I persisted in trying to pair them with my 2009 MacBook Pro 13" running OS X 10.13.6 and was successful. What I have not been able to do on this system is to access the AirPods Pro Bluetooth Options settings yet. The pairing took quite a long wait after pressing the AirPods Pro case button and the Bluetooth Preferences shows a spinning icon indication a similar long process I believe is the same background activity. Perhaps the AirPods Pro need to be their case and close to the MacBook Pro for the Options button to appear. I will try this next, but why?!

Hi sgldda,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you don't see the Options button next to your AirPods Pro in the Bluetooth settings on your Mac, so we'd like to help. Although your AirPods don't need to be in their case to access Options, they will need to be connected to your Mac. If they are connected, try restarting your Mac to see if the Options button appears. Sometimes giving your device a fresh start can resolve unexpected behavior. If the issue persists, try unpairing your AirPods Pro and pairing them again. Learn more here: Set up AirPods with your Mac and other Bluetooth devices.
