My magic keyboard keeps dying/getting disconnected, every time I go to use the computer. The mouse works, but I can't sign in to the computer. Getting really frustrated with this expensive brick on my desk.

Try connecting the keyboard with the charging cable.
If another keyboard works then as Jack-19 mentioned, you should contact Apple Support.

I have tried this many times, either to charge it or reconnect it and it doesn't work. The keyboard just seems dead. It doesn't even show up under the Bluetooth icon. I've tried turning it on & off and charging it via wall outlet. The only way I can use the computer is plug in an old keyboard.
