Problems with using PS5 controller with Apple TV 4K

I have paired a set of two PS5 controllers to my brand new and freshly updated Apple TV 4K.

I have no issue with either controller until I play a game, Both controllers will work fine in the game but when i return to the Apple TV home screen I am stuck in the right hand column of icons with no way of getting to any other column. Selecting left with the Siri Remote 2 will cause the cursor to flick across to the next column but then instantly return to the the most right hand column. I can't use either PS5 controller to navigate the menu either.

The only way to fix this error is to go up to settings and unpair the PS5 controllers then the Siri remote functions as normal again.

I have tried to pair both controllers separately and experience the same issues.

Any fix out there that doesn't require a re-pair after every single game I play?

I don't have a PS5 so cannot update the PS5 controllers if that is the problem..

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are running into some issues controlling your Apple TV with your PS5 controllers. We definitely understand that can be a concern and we'd love to help. With all unexpected behavior, we advise that you restart your Apple TV, as well as each controller. If that has no effect on the issue, review the following steps to make sure everything is set up correctly: Connect a wireless game controller to your Apple device.

Contacting Sony to determine if there is another way to update the controller, when you no longer have a PlayStation console, may be necessary as well.
