iPhone deactivated

I have connected the iPhone to my laptop and I follow all the steps, but phone continue popping up with same message (iPhone deactivated)

You will need the password of the appleID that originally activated it.

This was the correct procedure, assuming the phone is not marked as lost or stolen by the original owner. If it is so marked, or if you don't have the AppleID password then it is a paperweight,

If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled
