Use of USB A lightening cable with new IPhone SE 2020!

What’s the difference between a USB A lightening cable and a USB C lightening cable? Can either of these cables be used to charge my new Iphone SE 2020 ? And why have Apple changed the type of cable ? Seems to be creating confusion and the need to buy new plugs since no longer supplied in the box!

Yes, you can use either.

USB C is the new standard on PCs, Macs, Android chargers.

EU directive to standardize chargers probably contributed to the decision to move to the modern USB C standard.
