Screen Mirroring Google with Apple TV

Is it true that Google Meet does not allow Screen Mirroring to Apple TV? I have an iPad Pro (5th gen) running iPad OS 14.7.1, an Apple TV 4K (2nd gen), and a Sony TV with HDMI eARC connection via Belkin 4K Ultra HDMI cable. I have no problem using screen mirroring to cast my screen from the iPad Pro to the Sony TV through  Apple TV, but I am unable to get Screen Mirroring to work when using Google Meet. Does anyone know why this might be, other than a Google vs. Apple cold war? Alternatively, is there some other way to cast the Google Meet screen from iPad to Apple TV other than Screen Mirroring? An Apple TV app solution is not what I want because I need to be able to use the iPad to draw and type notes simultaneously while sharing my screen during the Google Meet session.
