Screen glitches on GPU: Safari, Chrome, Firefox & desktop apps

Seems to be related to faulty hardware acceleration, it was isolated to Chrome at first but I have since observed it on all browser and some desktop apps. This has been an intermittent issue for a while.

Disabling hardware acceleration fixes the issue for Chrome, obviously that is not a real fix. I'm close to the point where this is a warranty claim with Apple. Can anyone suggest something I should try before fighting the good fight with Apple?

Safari

Firefox
