Callers Hear Static When Not on Speaker.

Whenever I receive or make a call on my iPhone XR all the other party hears is static. I can hear them clearly. If I switch to speaker, they can hear. FaceTime also works ok. If I record a voice memo it plays back clearly. The only thing not working is phone calls without speaker. Any ideas?

Hello Bob_R33,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We understand that callers here static when not on speaker. We'll do what we can to help.

This might be related to the signal or issues with calling itself since it works in other apps. Even though you can make and receive calls successfully, try the steps here to help troubleshoot the calls themselves and the connection to your carrier: If you can't make or receive calls on your iPhone

If you're still having issues and since it's just on phone calls, try reaching out to your carrier or Apple Support directly: Get Support

Enjoy.
