iPhone X getting hot after 14.7 & 14.7.1 update

I have noticed that since I updated all my Apple devices IPhone X, IPad touch 7th Gen and IPad 6th Gen they are getting quite hot when I am using them. I thought the newest update 14.7.1 might cure it but it hasn’t. I notice more on my phone as when I use it it gets hot quicker than ever and my battery drains quite quicker than it used to. Has anyone else got this problem or do we know if there is a bug in the software.

Thank you

Kirsti

Welcome, kirsti112!

From your post, it sounds like you are having issues with the temperature of your iPhone since updating to the newest iOS software. We’re glad that you reached out to the Apple Support Communities. We want to try and help you find the answers you need.

To start, have you had a chance to look over this information on Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures? If not, start there. Also, check out this guide with Important safety information for iPhone. We hope this information helps you out.

Kind regards.

kirsti112,

Thank you for looking over those steps and letting us know. Has it been longer than 48 hours since you updated the iOS software? We ask because the device will re-index the apps and photos on your device, which could also result in background activity and increasing battery usage.

If so (and you are still having the problem), you may want to Contact Apple for support and service. We hope this information helps you out.

Cheers!a
