Can’t receive non Apple texts on Gen8 ipad
Is there a setting that can allow the gen8 iPad to receive texts from non Apple users?

Which iPad generation is not the question.
SMS/MMS on iPad works only if you have an associated iPhone using the same Apple ID.
Otherwise iPad can only text to other Apple device users with iMessage.
