Problem with functions in Numbers

When I try to use the functions dec2hex or bin2hex they just return the decimal number (ie they behave like dec2dec or bin2dec). I have tried several different formats per the help page but I can't get either function to return a hex value. Is there some kind of trick to make these work?

Thanks. Pilot error. I had the cells formatted as Number. When I changed it to Automatic it works as expected. FYI, I was trying to be clever and add a 0x in front of the hex value. The only choices for a custom format are Number, Date & Time, or Text, and Number doesn't support anything but decimal. Thats what I get for trying to be clever. Oh well, thanks for the quick reply.
