Desktop Icons Suddenly Moved
Woke up this morning and my MacBookAir icons had all been moved to the right and I cannot move them! I am on Mojave 10.14.6 and didn't even have the darn thing plugged for an update! Please help. Thanks.

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Whew, they've changed pastebin & made it harder, but after pasting in, click Create new paste button, then Embed button, then copy the URL...

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...
Highlight one icon then Select All using CMD+a keys, then CMD+j keys to select View Options, try Sort by = None.

While it's generally attributed to Updates or Upgrades, it can also mean corruption or flakey mouse or touchpad.
Thank you -- Now that you mention it -- I have had trouble the past few days with my cursor arrow "disappearing". Maybe time for a new laptop.
