Phone won’t charge unless dead...

Hi, my iPhone is not charging unless it’s battery is fully discharged..!! that’s too, it continues charging only when locked, if I unlock, it will stop charging..!!

I tried connecting to MacBook USB, Wall Charger etc., but, nothing work unless battery is completely discharged.... any suggestions, what might be problem.

I did take it to near by apple authorised service center and he says, mother board is faulty... - which I couldn’t understand ‘HOW’..

any suggestions are greatly appreciated..!!!

You could arrange a repair but the out-of-warranty replacement fee for an iPhone 7 Plus, if it is more than battery, is almost as much as a new iPhone SE

Maybe time to call it a day and get a new phone.
