IPhone 8 Plus Touch Screen Malfunction?

My IPhone 8 Plus is having a problem where the touch screen is not responding when the screen(phone?) gets even SLIGHTLY warm. It is nowhere near hot. Simple things like watching videos on YouTube for 10-15 minutes that causes normal device warmth can cause my screen to stop responding to touch for up to half hour or more. I’ve had it happen from the warmth of my face from phone calls. How do I fix this?! Without fail it happens when I leave the house and it is hot outside (summer currently so hot outside and air conditioning is on inside).

most the time I have to hold the phone to sensitive skin like on my inner arm to tell that it is warm.

All other actual buttons on the phone work when the screen stops responding. After I am back home in the air conditioning and it “cools off” for a bit the phone goes back to normal and works fine.

I don’t understand why it is having this issue when the screen is probably barely warmer then body temperature and is in no way close to be considered “hot”. I wouldn’t even call it “very warm”!
