Batteries do not switch between USB-A and USB-C.

A USB-A connection can provide power.

A USB-C connection can provide power.

Power charges the battery.

A USB-A power source will charge an iPhone SE 2nd gen.

A USB-C power source will charge an iPhone SE 2nd gen.

Charging with either or (alternately) both USB-A and USB-C connections will have no adverse effects.

Either or both connections will work, will charge, and will not damage.

Junk-grade and not-standards-compliant or faulty devices can cause problems, as cheap junk always can.

Yes.

USB-C is a different connector, with a different USB-C to Lightning cable, and can provide more power than can USB-A connection.

USB-C rapid chargers and higher-wattage computer USB-C ports are compatible with this iPhone SE 2nd gen.

USB-A connectors and its charging is older, and offers less or much less power.

USB-A connection at 5W, 10W, or 12W will all work, and will charge an iPhone SE 2nd gen. More slowly.

Old computers or car USB-A ports may well only offer 5W. Check the computer or car owner’s manual for details.

You will need a USB-A to Lightning cable here, if you want to charge from a USB-A connection.
