Access to a USB Drive that is encrypted by Bitlocker on iPad Pro

Hello Experts!

I am very frustrated from a communication experience with Apple Support Today!

I can not open a USB Drive that is encrypted by Bitlocker on my iPad Pro. The last updated version of iOS (14.7.1) on my iPad Pro 2020, does not allow me to enter the password of my encrypted USB Drive when I connect it to the iPad. Therefore, I can not open my encrypted USB Drive on my iPad.

I contacted Apple Support on this case (Case ID: 101450243506), but they requested me to contact Microsoft. I contacted Microsoft, but they told me it’s Apples issue to update their iOS to allow users to enter the password for USD Drives that are encrypted by Bitlocker. I contacted Apple Support again and they asked me to contact Microsoft again, … and so on … !!!

Is there a resolution to this issue please?

BitLocker is not available on non-Windows platforms natively. You need a third party app to read the files on an iPad, iPhone, or macOS device. I am aware of several apps for macOS, but I do not know of any for iOS/iPadOS that have this functionality.

If you need to read a USB drive on multiple devices that are not all Windows, you may want to consider a BitLocker alternative.
