Default zip code in iphone web browsers.

How do I get safari URLs to recognize the right zip code I’m in. It’s always defaulting to another state when browsing on shopping sites. There must be a setting that controls this (hopefully).

Hi Less.

thanks for responding. The Language and region settings are not specific enough - on the iPhone, region equates to country.

I’ve tried clearing cookies and cache but websites still default in a location several hundred miles away. In my case I live in the Bay Area of California and my browsers think I’m in the state of Washington. This is happening I think because my ISP routes traffic through servers in another state and provides the default coordinates of the server location, not where I’m physically located. I’m looking for a way to control that default on my devices. Can’t seem to find a way. I know I can’t be the only one with this issue. But alas here I am. Thanks again for your advice.

Hello Fredwolf007,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems you are having issues with websites you visit not reflecting that your location. First, go to System Preferences > Language & Region and make sure these settings are correct.

Language & Region preferences

Next, please remove stored cookies and clear your browsing history in Safari and test your issue again. Also, if you're using a VPN, try turning it off, as this could be related to your issue.
