Macbook Air 2017 will not print multiple copies of word doc.

I recently purchased Microsoft 365 for Mac and installed it on my MacBook as well as my iMac.

On the MacBook it will print only 1 copy of a doc regardless of how many I select, iMac is ok.

I have spent 75 mins with Microsoft, 60 mins with HP and still no joy.

To confuse things the Air will print multiple copies of a pfd file also in Google Chrome and TextEdit there is no problem.

Microsoft says it is in the computer and HP have exhausted all means to fix the problem.

So is there anything in the MacBook Air 2017 with Big Sur that would prevent it print a word doc?

Logically I say no and the problem lies with Word but the Microsoft tech spent all his time inside the MacBook and came to the conclusion it was the MacBook.

Everyone is saying it is the other so I am confused.

I have read your entire post. Very interesting. There is one thing that you stated caught my eye and that is, "To confuse things the Air will print multiple copies of a pfd file also in Google Chrome and TextEdit there is no problem." - That line actually removed all confusion for me. That tells me that the issue is only when printing Word documents. Try printing a small spreadsheet directly from MS Excel and see whether that prints multiple copies. If Excel does then the issue resides with MS Word. I am sure that you have deleted and reinstalled MS Word and if not then try that as well. Perhaps reinstall the entire Microsoft 365 suite.
