You do not have permission to open the application “Canon IJScanner15f”.

I just updated to Big Sur 11.5.1. Now when I try to use Cannon IJ Scan Utility2 Version 2.3.8 to scan a document I get an error "You do not have permission to open the application “Canon IJScanner15f”. Contact your computer or network administrator for assistance." I checked Sharing and Permissions for the application file and folder but I have READ & WRITE permissions. How can I scan again?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.5

Sorry - I just found the answer. I needed to go somewhere other than the Application Folder Sharing and Permissions.

I don't know how to delete the question.

I'm glad you didn't delete the question. I have been trying to resolve this for days and Apple Support only came up with reinstalling the driver. This has solved my problem. Thank you so much.

So glad you posted the solution! I went to see the Genius Bar and all they did was update the scanner program, which did nothing.
