safari not automatically closing tabs

Hi allI have my safari settings to automatically close tabs after one day. However i still have a TON of tabs that are still there even though they are weeks old in some cases.

Any ideas as to why it’s not closing them?

How do I prevent tabs from being closed automatically? I have Safari set to close tabs manually, but periodically (and irregularly) it closes a bunch of them automatically. Most recently, It closed all tabs open longer than about four hours. I had been stepping through all of my open tabs from time to time to keep them from being closed (last time about four days ago), but it didn’t work this time. I really hate this behavior. I use open tabs to remember things.

Safari opens previously closed tabs I'm closing tabs and deleting tabbed groups in Safari. The next day I go to Safari, and all closed tabs and deleted tab groups are reopened, as if I had not closed or deleted them. How to fix it?

Safari recent tabs In safari by pressing plus button on tabs page you can see recently closed pages. The problem is sometimes, especially when there were a lot of closed pages, order of them showing seems pretty random. For example the first on that list will be website I opened days ago or even more, but website which I opened most recently will be showed in the middle of this list. Deleting safari history and websites cache and all of that default actions don’t help. Problem keeps on occurring every time there are pretty many closed tabs. Anyone encountered it?

If these are iCloud Tabs, close those tabs.

Settings > Safari > Close Tabs

Deselect and reselect the option.
