Iwatch hangs on Apple logo while charging

Hi All, not sure if i am the only one with this issue. I recently found that me Apple Watch (series 2) will automatically switch to the Apple logo when it is put on a charger and I am not able to even tell the battery power it has been charged up to.

Though the watch is still usable, I am just baffled by this change.

Would appreciate if anyone could share any hacks..
