I have a brand new Macbook Pro 13inch with M1 chip and my iiyama G-MASTER GB3461WQSU-B1 is not being recognised by the computer

My iiyama G-MASTER GB3461WQSU-B1 monitor was working fine with my Macbook Pro until this morning (Monday 2 Aug 2021) - it is now not being recognised by the computer anymore. Nothing has changed - am still using the Display Port to USB-C cable. I've shutdown the computer and restarted it a few times but still the monitor is not being recognised. It wakes up but says 'No Signal' and the Macbook simply doesn't see it - no external monitor is coming up in the Display settings.

Anyone else having this issue? Any help is most welcome.

Thank you

Hi i_rina,

Thank you for your reply. Have tried this but no luck.

Have replaced the Displayport to USB-C cable as well and still nothing. Have been on calls and chats with Apple support but still not being able to resolve this.

Have also tried SwitchResX but that didn't help either.

What's frustrating is that it was working absolutely fine for the last 2 weeks when I got the new M1 macbook pro, and then it stopped working just after the latest release of the OS on Sunday (11.5.1) - my guess at this point is that the issue lies in the OS coding with support for Ultra-Wide monitors and possibly even with IIyama monitors in particular.

Have also reached out to IIyama support on Monday but have not heard back.

If anyone has a solution that would be great. It's sersiously frustrating.

UPDATE

So I spoke to a senior support advisor at Apple and the last solution is to reinstall the OS to see if this fixes things. I still need to do this.

In the meantime I have used my wife's HP 32inch monitor - it works with the same cable with no issue - but it's not an Ultra Wide Monitor. It's display ratio is 16:9 whereas my Iiyama GMASTER 34 inch has a display ratio of 21:9.

Which makes me think that in the latest OS update (11.5.1) Apple have rolled back support for Ultra Wide Monitors which they had acknowledged back in December 2020 and had fixed since then.

Very frustrating and hopefully they will fix this soon.
