AirTag battery only lasting 3 months?

I've got the exact same issue, 1 tag out of 4 has drained the battery twice in the space of 2 months. I figure it's a faulty product.

Was this battery newly installed? If not have you replaced the battery to see if the new battery lasts about the same amount of time?

I took mine in to a local Apple Store and they swapped out for a 'new' one from somewhere out the back after apparently taking it away for testing. There is no such drain on the new one yet, but it's early days.

Same I bought a 4 pack at release with custom prints so took 2 weeks to deliver and one is under half already and the rest are basically full charge still. Has anyone tried resetting the unit and repairing them? Or did anyone here see apple and have a hardware replacement?

Same issue here. Bought (from the Apple store) and activated my new Airtag on 9/18/21, battery died around 8/14/21. Didn't even last a full two months. Seems there might be a product defect in some items?
