Hasn’t been a full 3 months since I received my AirTags. One AirTag battery is already dead. The other 3 show full charge. Is there a reason for this? Aren’t they supposed to last around a year?
I took mine in to a local Apple Store and they swapped out for a 'new' one from somewhere out the back after apparently taking it away for testing. There is no such drain on the new one yet, but it's early days.
The day after, the AirTag showed a full charge. Try removing the battery for a
few seconds, haven’t had a problem since. Maybe a software glitch?

Was this battery newly installed? If not have you replaced the battery to see if the new battery lasts about the same amount of time?

Same issue here. Bought (from the Apple store) and activated my new Airtag on 9/18/21, battery died around 8/14/21. Didn't even last a full two months. Seems there might be a product defect in some items?
I've got the exact same issue, 1 tag out of 4 has drained the battery twice in the space of 2 months. I figure it's a faulty product.
Same I bought a 4 pack at release with custom prints so took 2 weeks to deliver and one is under half already and the rest are basically full charge still. Has anyone tried resetting the unit and repairing them? Or did anyone here see apple and have a hardware replacement?
