Genius Bar appointment - This is tricky to get to directly. Go to https://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ > Get hardware help. Select your hardware and continue selecting options requiring replacing parts until you see "Bring in for Repair" --> Sign in with Apple ID

If you do not have a service center near you, you can try keeping it turned off for a day or two. If it was just water, and you're lucky, then it may not have caused damage. If it starts behaving strangely then get it looked at.
I also note this computer is running Yosemite which means it is likely a pretty old computer. Depending upon the age, Apple may not even offer to look at it at all:

Thank you. Actually it’s a newer MacBook Air - maybe 2 years at most. I had the old one before

Take it to a service center. Water and electronics and electronics do not mix.
As above- I guess I was lucky but after 48 hours turned off, screen hanging over the side of a table with the keyboard face down on a towel - it started to work again. The mouse pad was stuck initially but freed itself after pressing on it a few times…. So far so good.
