How Do I update my health app on my phone it doesn’t count all the miles and steps correctly

Health app is miscalculating steps Hi! The Health app on my phone is definitely miscalculating the steps it’s recording. This past weekend my parents came to visit and we were walking around the same exact distance, theirs both recorded around 10.1 miles and mine was 8.2. I also sometimes pre calculate distances using Apple Maps and it’ll tell me it’s 1.1 miles to a certain location and when I check my Health app, it will have only recorded 0.7 miles or so. I feel like I’m being severely undercounted for some reason. I’ve updated to the latest iOS. My location services is on, as is Motion and Fitness. I’ve restarted my phone. I don’t know if there’s a way to calibrate the Health app. Has anyone noticed anything similar that they’ve resolved? Thanks in advance! :)

ARRRGH! Every 12 minutes is NOT sufficient Apple! In iOS15, the Health app fails to update continually as it has for the past several iOS iterations. It is updating every 10–12 minutes and my walks are now really off. GRRRR! If this is an attempt to save battery life, let US CHOOSE to have the app go offline for over 1/2 mile at a pop. I want continual updating. Also, I would like the distance to the 1/100th of a mile for my entire walk, not just the first mile. Thank you.

completely close out of the app and do a force restart outlined in this link If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support
