My iTunes software no longer has Check for updates available under the Help tab. Is there a work a round?

That would indicate that you have downloaded the Microsoft Store version of iTunes (rather than the version direct from Apple), in which case iTunes updates automatically. Hence the lack of Check for Updates on the Help menu, you don't need to check.
